Meet the Staff (SOUTH) – Ginny DeCoster

Ginny DeCoster, Director of Yoga
Ginny DeCoster discovered her love for yoga while searching for a healthier lifestyle. A mother of 3 girls and the wife of a fighter pilot often deployed for many months, she spent most of her time in the home taking care of her family and rarely herself. But as the girls grew out of their babyhood she joined Inlet South looking to change that. After several months of playing with machines and running on the treadmill, she took her first yoga class and found an instant connection. Inspired, a new life started! Dedicated to her family and lifelong teachers, she continues a daily practice and strives to live a yogic lifestyle.
Excited to deepen her practice and share it with others, Ginny completed her initial RYT 200hr certification in Hatha Yoga with her first teacher, Ann Richardson of Virginia Beach. During this process she met Beryl Bender Birch, and found an immediate connection with the Ashtanga yoga method. Becoming certified with The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute In 2008. Ginny then received her 500hr RYT from Studio Bamboo Institute of Yoga in 2010, and became an Experienced yoga teacher through the Yoga Alliance in 2012.
Her classes include attention to breath, gaze, proper technique, intention, and uplifting music. Taught to be a hands on instructor, she enjoys providing adjustments to deepen the benefits of each pose. Ginny teaches her students to use yogic philosophy in their practice on the mat and off, bringing perspective to the challenges of everyday life.
